Grade #1 Roses
Grade #1 is the highest-quality grade given to a rose bush. It’s a more mature plant, and it’s more resistant to the strains of planting.

The above-ground branches (called "canes") are more numerous and thicker on Grade #1 rose bushes. That means your rose will have more blooms and a lower risk of having canes dry out before or after planting. Because the root system is more mature, it’s more resistant to stress during planting.

Why buy a Grade #1 Rose?
  • More and bigger canes (branches)
  • More blooms (due to more branches)
  • More vigorous, resistant to the strains of planting
  • Wide variety to choose from
Grade #1 ½ Roses Grade #1 ½ rose bushes are generally smaller, less-mature plants, but they still possess great variety and quality. Grade #1 ½ roses are a less expensive grade, and they’re often the choice of beginning gardeners.

Why buy a Grade #1 ½ Rose?
  • Plenty of variety and quality
  • Value-priced
